what i'm up to.

what's true right now, give or take.

working
ai org frameworks at universe, and a factory game in my off hours.
writing
a long piece about a small tool i've been building, and what it's done to my workflow. more useful than it has any right to be.
seeing
the last dinner party @ massey hall. second time seeing them in toronto, love them. they were spectacular, great energy.
reading
desolation island, book five of patrick o'brian's aubrey-maturin series. they're wonderful. five down, sixteen to go.
learning
interior decorating, poorly. turns out 'good taste' is a thousand tiny decisions you didn't realize you were making.
listening
dorian electra by dorian electra. the new self-titled covers album. somehow it's my entire music taste, in cover form.
playing
hollow knight. at the final boss, but upping my completion score before i tackle it.
watching
for all mankind mars feels like ds9 this season.
secretly
running a star trek webring on a refurbished pentium iii in my mom's basement. currently in a flame war with the babylon 5 webring.
thinking about
  • what gets harder, not easier, when the cost of writing code drops.
  • the tension between ai velocity and the slow work of trust, taste, and culture.
  • whether the engineering org chart of 2027 will look anything like the one in 2024.
